Revelstoke After School Society is a not for profit company with our main focus as providing the community with quality, affordable, and outdoor-based childcare.

Our programs are based upon the theories of Outdoor Education which draws upon the philosophy, theory, and practices of experiential education and environmental education.

Each program’s curriculum is based outdoors, but we do have some indoor spaces should the environment become too uncomfortable or unsafe for real learning. While indoors, we focus on explorative play based learning created through careful observation and purposeful materials. We allow our students to learn through their interests and senses by creating engaging learning environments in the following areas: creative/dramatic play, health, nutrition, language, numeracy, science and sensory. Our learning environment allows for growth in the 5 domains of development: cognitive, emotional, physical, social, and language.

Licensed After School Care

Our after school program offers nature connection outdoors year round on and around each of our school locations, as well as the greenbelt, and urban connections in downtown Revelstoke! The curriculum is based on experiential learning that lets children learn about the environment around them, the natural world, and themselves. Our staff are passionate mentors, that will pick your child up after school and bring them to our program location, provide snacks, ignite their curiosity and play outdoors with them.

Unlicensed RASS-cals Summer Camp

Our Summer Camp offers an opportunity for children ages 5-8 to get connected with their environment and their community. We pride ourselves in our ability to offer a welcoming learning environment while fostering the connection between children and the natural world. Our Summer Camp does this thorough creating learning outcomes that connect back to our time spent outdoors, hands on learning, guided free play, and discovery. Our programming has a balanced focus between both individual and group play.

**If your child 5 years old they MUST have completed Kindergarten to enroll in our Summer Camps
